  • Dr. Nidal Muhana joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Division as the Director of the Head and Neck Surgery Unit in 2016 after completing an extended period of training at one of the leading hospitals in the world in the field of oncology and surgery of the head and neck, in Toronto, Canada (The Princess Margaret Cancer Center - PMCC). Dr. Muhana has performed thousands of surgical procedures and surgeries in the area of head and neck tumors, and is recognized as a leading physician in his field, in Israel and globally. Dr. Muhana has extensive experience in a variety of areas in head and neck surgery, including surgeries for tumor resection, reconstructions using microsurgery and free flaps, robot-assisted surgery, and open access as well as endoscopic surgery of the base of the skull. Since September 1, 2020, Dr. Muhana has served as the Director of the Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck and Maxillofacial Surgery Division.
  • Dr. Nidal Muhana is the Director of the Laboratory for Basic Cancer Research at the hospital and is an advisor to a large number of interns and students in the field.
  • In October 2016, a Basic Research Laboratory was established at the Laboratories Division of the Tel Aviv Medical Center. The research performed at the laboratory focuses on a several planes related to applied cancer research.
  • The laboratory employs a team that includes: a research fellow, physicians, interns, doctoral students and medical students. Collaborations include collaborative research with leading centers in Canada - e.g. The Princes Margaret Cancer Center, Toronto, University Health Network (UHN). Some of the research will be in collaboration with the University of Toronto. Dr. Muhana also continues to serve as a Scientific Fellow at the Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Department at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Muhana has won six National Awards as well as six Peer-Reviewed Grants
