Neurology
Neurology Department Overview
The Neurology Department accepts patients suffering from stroke, epilepsy, musculoskeletal disorders, neuromuscular diseases, memory impairments, infectious neurological diseases, and autoimmune conditions.
It includes inpatient wards, an electromyography (EMG) institute, specialized neurological clinics, and a neurology outpatient center — all providing comprehensive neurological treatment in Israel.

Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders
The specialized clinic treats Parkinson’s disease and other motor disorders, such as Huntington’s disease, dystonia, Tourette’s syndrome, and tics. A multidisciplinary team of neurology specialists in Israel helps patients manage symptoms and maintain their quality of life.
Epilepsy Treatment
The Epilepsy Center is divided into:
- A clinical unit for complex epilepsy treatment
- An electroencephalography (EEG) institute offering 24-hour video-EEG monitoring
- Diagnostic support using MRI, fMRI, SPECT, neuropsychological assessments, and Wada testing
These tools help determine candidates for epilepsy surgery in cases resistant to medications.

ALS and Neuromuscular Disorders
The clinic for neuromuscular disorders provides advanced care for patients with ALS and other peripheral nervous system conditions. The multidisciplinary team includes neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech therapists, and respiratory rehabilitation specialists. Emotional and social support is offered through group therapy.
Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease
The stroke clinic supports both acute and preventive care. It serves patients recovering from stroke and those with early warning signs such as temporary weakness, vision loss, or speech disorders.
Advanced Doppler ultrasound equipment allows non-invasive evaluation of brain blood flow, enabling early detection and neurology consultation without waiting.
Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology
The Neuroimmunology Clinic diagnoses and treats diseases caused by the immune system’s effect on the nervous system, including multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis.
Neurology Outpatient Center
Outpatient services include diagnostic procedures that do not require hospitalization, such as:
- Lumbar puncture
- Intravenous drug administration
- Subarachnoid injections
The clinic allows patients to receive treatment without hospital admission, which significantly reduces cost and infection risk — ideal for those seeking neurology without queues or neurology without waiting.
Diagnostic Services Offered:
- Lumbar puncture to analyze cerebrospinal fluid
- Tau protein testing (for Alzheimer’s or Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease)
- Oligoclonal band testing (for MS or paraneoplastic syndrome)
- ACE enzyme testing (for neurosarcoidosis)
- Pressure measurements (e.g., in suspected hydrocephalus)
