Thyroid tumors are divided into two main groups:
- Benign tumors – they do not pose a life-threatening risk but can cause hormonal imbalances or mechanical discomfort.
- Malignant tumors, which include:
- Papillary carcinoma (up to 80% of cases) – characterized by slow growth and high survival rates.
- Follicular carcinoma (about 15%) – also has a favorable prognosis.
- Medullary carcinoma (approximately 3%) – requires a special approach to treatment.
- Anaplastic carcinoma (less than 2%) – one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms.
Modern technologies used in Israeli clinics enable successful diagnosis and treatment, even for complex cases of thyroid tumors.
